About Artie Shaw :
A Clarinetist,composer,bandleader and actor. Also an author, Shaw wrote both fiction and non-fiction.
Artie Shaw’s “innovations, musical depth, and swinging style placed him firmly in the pantheon of 20th century big band and jazz musicians,” according to Claudia Luther in the Los Angeles Times.
Widely regarded as “one of jazz’s finest clarinetists,” Shaw led one of the United States’ most popular big bands in the late 1930s through the early 1940s. Though he had numerous hit records, he was perhaps best known for his 1938 recording of

About Tom Ranier
Tom plays piano , clarinet and sax. He has recorded widely under his own name and as a sideman for Warner Bros., Concord Records and several other labels.He has been prominent in the film, television, and music recording industry since the 1970s. He has played keyboards, woodwinds and writing music for a long list of assignments, including Grammy, Academy Award, Emmy, Dancing with the Stars and Golden Globe. Soundtracks for artists such as Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Michael Feinstein, Christina Aguilera, Joe Pass, Plácido Domingo, Barry Manilow, Natalie Cole, and many others.
About Ron Escheté (pronounced ESH-tay)
is the consummate master of the seven-string guitar. Whether he is playing bebop, ballads or blues he is a musically sophisticated guitarist who plays with grace and dignity. “Escheté is one of the finest jazz guitarists in L.A. – no small achievement in a region dense with superb players,” says Jim Ferguson of JazzTimes. His deft and nimble fingers paint a spectrum of sound so rich that his voicings are often compared with those of a pianist. 20th Century Guitarlikens his sound to that of the great Bill Evans.
Escheté has appeared on the Tonight Show with Diana Krall, the Merv Griffin Show with the Mort Lindsey Orchestra, the Mike Douglas Show with Buddy Greco. He has played nearly every notable jazz venue in the southern California including the Catalina Bar and Grill, The Jazz Bakery, Steamers, DontÈ’s, Carmeloís, The Parisian Room and The Lighthouse to name only a few. He has toured extensively and has played major venues from New York to San Francisco.
About Luther Hughes
Luther has played bass with some of the biggest names in jazz in a career spanning over 30 years. He has performed or recorded with jazz and pop artists such as Gene Harris, Mundell Lowe, Joe Henderson, Carmen MacRae, Willie Bobo, Horace Silver, Harold Land, Don Ellis, Joe Pass, Louis Bellson, Hampton Hawes , Patti Page, Tony Martin, Frankie Avalon, Fabian, Nancy Sinatra, Pearl Bailey, King Sisters, Lennon Sisters, The Fifth Dimension, The Coasters, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Connie Smith, Ray Price, Homer and Jethro.
Luther’s Musical Theater and Television credits include:
“Georgia Brown and Friends”, “The Four Poster” starring Carol Lawrence, and Ross Martin, “Flower Drum Song”, The Rich Little Show, conductor/musical director for “Good Times”, and Jack Jones, Don Rickles, Yakov Smirnoff, Pat Morita. “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson”, “The Pat Sajak Show”, “The Midnight Special”, numerous Dick Clark productions, and can also be seen in several episodes of “Star Trek Deep Space Nine”.
